If you don't arrive, the people you chose are told.

• Works when your phone is off

  The alert is sent from our servers, not from your phone. A flat battery or no signal does not stop it.

• Only the people you choose

  WakaGuard texts the contacts you pick for a trip, about that trip. It does not send marketing messages.

• Sharing ends when you arrive

  Tap "I've arrived" and the trip closes. The link your contacts were following stops working.

How it works

1. Start a trip

   Before you set off, say where you are going, how long it should take and who should be told.

2. Your phone reports where it is

   While the trip runs, your phone sends its position. Anyone you send the trip link to can follow it on a map.

3. Arrive, and it ends

   Tap "I've arrived" and the trip closes. The trip link stops working. If you ticked "Text them when I arrive", your contacts get a text saying you arrived.

4. If you don't arrive

   You get a reminder first. If the trip is still running 15 minutes after your arrival time, your contacts get a text with your last known location, even if your phone is off by then.

The text messages WakaGuard sends

WakaGuard texts only the contacts a traveller has chosen, and only about that traveller's own trip. It does not send marketing messages. Each one is addressed to the contact by name and ends with our company's name. They look like this:

• A traveller shares a trip with a contact

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard: Ada is sharing a trip to Ibadan with you. Expected arrival Tue 4:30 pm. Follow their trip: [trip link] Powered by WakaGuard

• A traveller has not arrived

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard: Ada has not checked in from a trip to Ibadan, due Tue 4:30 pm. Please call them. Last seen Tue 4:12 pm: [map link] Follow their trip: [trip link] Powered by WakaGuard

• A traveller presses SOS

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard SOS: Ada needs help. Call them or 112. Location: [map link] Follow their trip: [trip link] Powered by WakaGuard

• A traveller tells a contact they are fine

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard: Ada checked in and is OK. Powered by WakaGuard

• A traveller who was overdue checks in

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard: Ada has checked in and ended the trip safely. Powered by WakaGuard

• A traveller arrives and asked for their contacts to be told

  Hi Tobi, WakaGuard: Ada has arrived safely and ended their trip to Ibadan. Powered by WakaGuard

If you received one of these and do not want them, ask the person named in it to remove you from their contacts, or write to us at the address below.
